RCP London Events is making a British Sign Language (BSL) and live caption feature available. The company hosts more than 570 events a year at its events venue in London and digitally.
Piloted at a series of events for the British Association of Teachers of the Deaf, the product is now available for use at all events being held at the venue, whether hybrid or virtual.
The feature includes automated captions for pre-recorded or live content, human-generated captions for live events, live BSL interpreters for live events and a live simultaneous translation app built-into the platform for multi-language events.
According to the RNID, in the UK, 12 million people are affected by hearing loss.
“We are delighted to be able to offer this necessary support for those attending conferences and events at our venue, whether in person or virtually,” said Natacha Allen, head of commercial events at RCP London Events. “We’ve received some great feedback from the delegates who have used the new feature and we look forward to offering these services to our clients going forward.”
