The expertise of Clair Solutions and Elation has come together to implement audio, lighting and video installations at Time Square’s Paradise Club in Manhattan, New York.
On the seventh floor of the new EDITION boutique hotel, Paradise Club is a nightclub and performance space. Elation’s professional lighting rig is now in place, created and installed in collaboration with AVL design and integration firm Clair Solutions. J. Marquez Consultants also worked on the project.
The club strives to create a fully immersive experience with a starburst LED ceiling, depth-producing upstage video wall, and atmosphere-generating dynamic lighting system.
Clair Solutions served as audio, video, lighting and control consultant in addition to integrator on the project, which included several spaces around the boutique hotel. Michelle Caron from Clair Solutions was the performance lighting system designer and project manager for the AVL system in the building and designed the theatrical lighting and control for the 200-seat Paradise Club.
The Elation lighting system consists of Artiste DaVinci LED moving spots, Fuze Wash Z350 LED moving head washes, SixPar 200 LED PAR lights, and SixBar 1000 LED battens. The fixtures are located in the over-stage grid and out in the house, spread along four lengths of truss that flank the dining and dancing area.
Caron commented, “As the system designer, what stands out in the fixture lines is their reliability and readiness to perform under pressure with a festival-style rotation of lighting designers and consoles. Professionals are familiar with the fixtures when they walk in the door and the gear is always ready to perform. The room itself is in high demand, so there isn’t down time to swap out or service fussy fixtures.”
