Active Audio is launching a new product at Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) – Ray-On Powered over Ethernet (PoE) loudspeaker column arrays. The exhibition is being held in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, on 11-14 February 2020.
The new series has been designed to bring Active Audio’s sound quality into a new generation of smart buildings where networking is key. The company says it is particularly suitable for office blocks, stadium VIP areas, hotels and shopping malls.
The Ray-On PoE series has a comprehensive PoE+ interface (IEEE 802.3at), which includes 45W of continuous power on the network connector, a 60W internal audio power amplifier and a Dante RJ45 digital input into a self-powered column loudspeaker. In addition, internal signal processing and optimisation utilising Active Audio’s patented Digital and Geometric Radiation Control (DGRC) steering technology is included to create well-defined coverage patterns with a smart mix of acoustics geometry and filtering.
Models within the new series include the R70-PoE, with six drivers in a 70cm (27.6in) column loudspeaker; the R110-PoE vertical column arrays, featuring 12 drivers in a 110cm (43.3in) column loudspeaker; and the B70-PoE, with seven drivers in a 70cm sound bar, which provides optimised horizontal directivity. Active Audio says the addition of PoE technology allows users to easily equip any wired building with a high-quality solution offering consistency of coverage, ease of use and simple setup. Ray-On PoE loudspeakers will be available for immediate shipping.
